When you hear the name Susan G. Komen breast cancer, pink ribbons and Race For the Cure probably come to mind. What you might not know is that it’s the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts including global outreach, community programs, research and public policy. In doing so they’ve made a significant impact over the last three decades, investing more than $2.5 billion to breast cancer programs in more than 30 countries. Wow. Quite impressive considering the organization started with $200 and a shoebox of potential donor names.
At Jaffe Jewelers, one thing we are very passionate about is giving back. In support of our customers and loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer, we partnered with the Susan G. Komen foundation to host Carats for the Cure in November of 2014. On that night we gathered the community, some pink champagne and our finest pink jewelry to help a good cause. The evening was so successful that Susan G. Komen asked us to continue the relationship.
For us, it was a no brainer and moving into 2015 we are proud to announce that Jaffe Jewelers is now the official jeweler in the Dayton, OH area for the Susan G. Komen foundation. It’s such an honor and we couldn’t be happier to support such a great cause for both those within our community as well as those around the world. If you live in the Dayton area, please stay tuned for more information around our partnership including our second Breast Cancer awareness event, which will be held in October of 2015. While the details aren’t finalized, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to help fund research and assist those who are currently battling the disease.
Only Jaffe, for the cure.
